about ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿฝ khamsa

In an age of algorithms, AI, and endless scrolling, what people are craving is simple: real connection.

๐Ÿ–๐Ÿฝ khamsa is more than a list of events. Itโ€™s a weekly invitation to show up in real life, to celebrate Arabic language and culture in the city we call home.

Every event is an opportunity to be fully present. To speak, listen, share space, and reconnect with the community.

Rooted in Torontoโ€™s diversity, we celebrate what makes this city vibrant: the way people gather across cultures, how languages echo in subway cars, and how new traditions take root here, together.

Whether youโ€™re part of Toronto's Arabic-speaking community or simply curious to explore it, youโ€™re welcome here.

why khamsa?

khamsa (ุฎู…ุณุฉ) means โ€œfiveโ€ in Arabic. The name also nods to Khamees (ุงู„ุฎู…ูŠุณ), the Arabic word for Thursday, and the fifth day of the week in many calendars used by Arabic-speaking communities.

So when khamsa hits your inbox on Thursdays, itโ€™s more than a coincidence. Itโ€™s a small connection to something deeper.
